There's plenty of choice when it comes to choosing the right exhibition stand for your business, so we thought we'd try and make things a little bit easier.  Here we take an in-depth look at the key differences between rigid portable stands and their more flexible modular counterparts.

Ease of Use

Portable systems such as banner stands and pop-ups can be set up in a matter of minutes by one person.  Speed of assembly makes this style of stand the perfect choice for businesses that are either filling a smaller exhibition space or sending out a company representative on their own.

Modular stands can be more time-consuming to set up but certainly provide a higher level of impact.  Whilst bigger, more complex configurations may require specialist assistance, but many modular stands can be self-built.  The ISOframe Ripple and the ISOframe Wave for example, can both be assembled without tools in a relatviely short space of time and will even fit in the boot of most small cars for ease of transport.

Adaptability

By their nature, rigid portable stands offer limited scope for adaptability.  Once purchased, they tend to be only suitable for one type of exhibition space, or for use as backdrops at presentations and seminars.  A certain level of adaptability can be achieved by adding tables and stands but a portable stand is only ever going to provide limited exhibition solutions.

Eschewing the one-size-for-all-occasions approach, modular stands can be re-configured numerous times to fit various exhibition spaces,  Adding or taking away sections, graphics and accessories becomes very simple and can give your stand a radically different look with each use.  We've covered the CIPD stand in a previous entry but it's worth mentioning again here that we have covered 5 different stand sizes / layouts using the same modular ISOframe Wave stand and have easily changed the configuration each time.

Accessories

Modular stands will have many more accessories available in order to customise your stand to exactly your requirements.  Portable stands work well as a backdrop without really offering such great flexibility.  The ISOframe Wave is a great example of this, with accessories such as LCD brackets that can take up to 42" screens, in-built counters, shelving displays, integrated literature racks, slatwall and merchandising product displays and even purpose-built door sections all available.

Return on Investment

Portable stands offer a great quick fix but their lack of adaptability can lead to a lack of re-usability.  You don't want to miss out on that perfect last-minute exhibiting opportunity by not having a stand that can properly fill the space on offer.

Modular stands on the other hand can be adapted and reused an almost infinite amount of times.  The flexibility of stands such as the ISOframe Ripple and ISOframe Wave will let you flex your stand on site to suit any venue.  Even with higher-end systems such as the ISOframe Exhibit, the opportunity to refresh your stand by replacing lower cost elements such as graphics and accessories gives you the opportunity to keep your exhibition presence fresh and relevant without breaking the bank.

We'd be very happy to discuss any of the points above to help you achieve your exhibition goals.  Call us on +65 6908 5480 or email us today at davidlawrence@amberandgreen.com.sg
